We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer specializing in Power Electronics Hardware and/or Control Design. The role involves designing and testing various power electronic converter topologies and control systems, with a focus on SiC-based technologies. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in a highly innovative and supportive environment.

Salary: $110,000-$140,000 with bonus potential

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and test power electronic converter topologies, including active rectifiers, isolated DC-DC converters, solid-state transformers, and high-speed motor drives.
  • Develop and implement DSP-based digital control algorithms, FPGA modulators, and high-level system controllers.
  • Create detailed PCB designs, including SiC gate drivers, control PCBs, and supporting hardware.
  • Design and test low and medium-voltage SiC semiconductor modules.
  • Develop embedded control algorithms, harmonic compensators, software PLLs, and other embedded systems.
  • Create Controller-Hardware-in-the-Loop test setups, control cards, and control algorithms.
  • Collaborate on medium voltage power distribution and printed circuit board design projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is required due to ITAR program restrictions.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with a minimum GPA of 3.3. Advanced degrees (MS or PhD) are a plus.
  • Experience: 5-11 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering.
  • Clearance: Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.

Highly Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Experience designing and controlling motor drives, AC-DC, and DC-AC converters.
  • Proficiency in high-speed communications development with high-performance FPGAs.
  • Experience programming various microcontrollers, DSPs, and FPGAs, particularly TI C2000 DSPs and Altera FPGAs.
  • Hands-on experience with OPAL-RT, Typhoon, PLECS RT Box, or other Hardware-in-the-Loop platforms.

Interview Process
